Built in the 12th century the Church of Our Lady is the central landmark of Breda visible from almost everywhere. Although quite a historic city Breda is a city that thrives on the creative minds of the young people who live there. And this is very much acknowledged by the Museum De Beyerd which serves to foster this credo.

The city has beautiful architecture and a gorgeous city center. Regardless of the time of year the city of Breda is vibrant and alive, as is seen its culural calendar. In February the burgers of Breda turn out for the annual Breda Carnival.

During May podiums are placed all over the city for the Breda Jazz Festival. Jazz bands come from all over the world to play and most performances are free.

The main event in August is the Breda Balloon Festival Hot air balloons of every size and color sail over the city.. or not, depending on the direction of the wind.
